There are four types of membership to the association you can apply for:
- Association Members (Full members) $180.00 (Early Bird $150 if paid before 20th Nov)
- Allied Members (those not hygienists) $112.50
- Associate Members (Hygienists not currently registered in DCNZ) $135.00
- Student Members (currently studying Bachelor of Oral Health in NZ) $45.00

- Five character password

- Select the membership type.
- Complete the purchase in PayPal
- Once you have completed purchasing in PayPal your browser will return you to the "Registration Success" page.
Step 4
- You will now be able to login to the site and access the member sections
- An email will be sent to you with your login and password
Association Members (Full members) $180 (Early Bird $150 if paid by 20 Nov)
Membership to the Association shall be open to qualified Hygienists and anyone registered with the Dental Hygiene Board in one (or more) of the Scopes of Practice for Dental Hygiene, who are interested in the objectives of the Association and are willing to comply with the Constitution, Rules, Regulations and Policies of the Association. Membership year is from 1 October to 30 September each year except for student membership. Annual subscriptions must be current for membership.
Associate Members (hygienists not currently registered with DCNZ) $135.00
Overseas Membership to the Association may be granted to any Dental Hygienist not currently registered with the DCNZ who is interested in the objectives of the Association and are willing to comply with the Constitution, Rules, Regulations and Policies of the Association. The Membership year is from 1 October to 30 September each year. Annual membership dues must be current for membership. Overseas membership dues will be 75% of the Association Membership dues and does not include any journal subscriptions or the right to vote or serve in any capacity throughout the Association. Overseas Members will be given access to the NZDHA website and welcome to attend any branch meetings as members. Branches will not be paid any honorarium for overseas members listed in their branch.
If an associate member becomes a registered Dental Hygienist in New Zealand they must pay the additional 25% of the total membership dues.
Students Members (currently studying Bachelor of Oral Health in NZ) $45
Student Membership may be conferred on any person currently studying towards a dental hygiene qualification in New Zealand. The membership dues will be 25% of the Association membership dues. Student membership allows students to gain access to all continuing professional development and publications. They have no voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. Membership dues are payable at Student membership rates for the final year of the study takes them through to September of the following year, when they will be liable for Association membership dues, but no joining fee.
Allied Members (those not hygienists) $112.50
Allied Supporters shall be individuals, institutions, federations, organizations or groups who are involved in the health profession and who demonstrate support for the policies of the Association. Application for Allied Supporter Affiliation shall be made to the membership committee of the NZDHA executive. Upon its recommendation, affiliation shall be granted by the Executive Committee and shall become effective upon receipt of the initial subscription fees. Allied Supporters are liable for Allied Supporter membership dues. Allied Supporters do not exercise the right to vote nor do they have the right to representation.
Honorary Life Members (Conferred by NZDHA only)
Honorary Life Membership may be conferred upon any member whom the Association wishes to honour with life membership by a vote of those present at any Annual General Meeting. An Honorary Life Member shall have all the privileges of the members of the Association but not the liability of the members as regards membership dues.
Honorary Members (Conferred by NZDHA only)
Honorary Membership may be conferred upon any person whom the Association wishes to honour by a unanimous vote of those present at any Annual General Meeting. An Honorary Member shall have all the privileges of the members of the Association except the right to vote, hold office and nominate members. The Honorary member shell not be liable for payment of the annual subscription.
